Our Featured Work

Here at exp Federal we are hard pressed to pick our favorite projects, each one bringing an exciting new challenge and a customized solution to fit the scope of the work to be done. We approach each endeavor with the same enthusiasm, here are a few that allowed us to pursue our creativity, technology knowledge and passion for problem solving.

USAG HVAC Upgrades

Wiesbaden, Germany

Work includes various mechanical scopes including replacement and repair of HVAC systems, and exterior civil/structural scopes to support new equipment. New major equipment includes custom-built chiller and DOAS systems. Modifications are phased to maintain site operations. Ventilation and air balances are being modified to meet UFC and ASHRAE standards.

Kadena AFB Ammunitions

Kadena AFB, Japan

Exp Federal worked with the 18th Wing Command to schedule flights in a drone free zone to use exp Federal’s Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS). The sUAS was able to collect high resolution imagery used for orthophoto maps and backgrounds for the CAD and GIS design. The imagery also produces point clouds and contouring for the existing conditions, through a pixel-to-point process commonly referred to as PhoDAR. Exp Federal used traditional survey to collect ground control shots for aero-triangulation of the aerial imagery and topographic survey in areas of dense tree cover to tie together the sUAS data, existing LiDAR, and ground truth areas of design concern. Exp Federal was able to obtain existing plans, CAD, GIS, and other resources needed to understand the design constraints of the region, both historically and currently. All data was migrated into CAD for the IFC design bid. Most of the data was also added to our base specific ESRI geodatabase. Our geodatabases help our designers query data that is typically not relevant in CAD. All GIS data comply with the FGDG metadata standards and the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE)
